Fish Table Special Weapons Guide

Fish Table Special Weapons Guide

Special weapons in fish table games at Game Vault 999 multiply your damage, stun fish, or clear the screen. This complete guide covers every weapon...

Special weapons are the highest-impact tools in fish table games at Game Vault 999. Unlike standard bullets, which fire one shot at fixed cost, special weapons deploy area effects, damage multipliers, or status effects that increase your effective kill probability far beyond what standard bullets achieve. Using the right weapon on the right target at the right time is the closest thing to a genuine skill edge in fish table games.

How Special Weapons Are Earned

Special weapons are earned by landing hits on boss fish — every 20 consecutive boss hits earns 1 special weapon charge. Charges are stored in your weapon inventory (visible above your cannon). You can hold a maximum of 3 charges simultaneously. Unused charges carry over between rounds but are session-specific — they do not persist after you close the game.

Lightning Strike — Precision Single Target

Lightning Strike fires a single massive energy bolt at your targeted fish dealing 3× standard bullet damage instantaneously. Its primary use case is Thunder Dragon, which has a 40% damage reduction against standard bullets — Lightning Strike bypasses this reduction and lands full 3× damage. For all other bosses, Lightning Strike is effective but not uniquely superior to Thunderstorm or Torpedo.

Secondary use: small groups of rare fish (golden fish schools, jewel fish) that appear briefly. These high-value fleeting targets die in 1–2 Lightning Strikes even at minimum denomination — faster than standard fire can kill them before they disappear.

Thunderstorm — The Best General-Purpose Special

Thunderstorm is the highest-versatility special weapon. Its 3-second area pulse hits every fish in a large radius simultaneously — dealing damage to all of them from a single charge. On a full table during a boss fight, Thunderstorm during the boss's vulnerable phase can generate proportional kill credit on the boss while simultaneously killing 20–40 surrounding fish.

Thunderstorm is the recommended default special for most player situations. It is the only weapon that can meaningfully contribute to both regular fish and boss fish simultaneously in a single deployment.

Torpedo — Maximum Boss Damage

Torpedo fires a sustained high-damage beam at a single target for 2 full seconds at 8× standard bullet damage per second — the highest single-target damage output of any special weapon. At $1.00 denomination, a full Torpedo hit delivers the equivalent of $16.00 in standard bullet damage in 2 seconds.

Torpedo is the correct choice for Kraken and Dragon King encounters — the two targets with the highest HP and kill value in Ocean King 3 and 4. On any boss below Poseidon tier, Thunderstorm typically produces more total damage due to its area effect hitting the boss and nearby fish simultaneously.

Coordinate Frost Cannon deployment with other players at the table. When one player deploys Frost Cannon (freezing all fish for 4 seconds), all players immediately switch to Thunderstorm or Torpedo on the frozen boss — the 2× damage multiplier during freeze combined with a Torpedo beam produces the highest damage spike possible in fish table games.

Frost Cannon — Multi-Player Combo Weapon

Frost Cannon is the only special weapon designed for cooperative use. It freezes all fish on screen for 4 seconds and applies a 2× damage multiplier to all frozen targets. Deployed solo, it is useful but not dramatically better than Thunderstorm. Deployed in a coordinated multi-player scenario where 2+ players immediately switch to Torpedo or Lightning Strike on a frozen boss, the combined damage output can defeat a Poseidon-tier boss in 2–4 seconds of focused fire.

Atomic Bomb — Screen Clear for Schools

Atomic Bomb instantly eliminates all regular fish on screen and deals 50% max HP damage to any boss fish present. Its best use case is when the screen is densely packed with medium-value fish (Golden Fish schools, Jewel Koi schools) — a single Atomic Bomb kill of 30–40 fish generates substantially more total coins than any other weapon can produce in the same instant.

Avoid using Atomic Bomb when the screen is sparse or when only a boss is active — the 50% HP hit on a boss is useful but wasteful compared to Torpedo's sustained damage potential.

Do special weapons use my standard bullet denomination?

No. Special weapons are free to deploy — they cost 0 credits to activate. The charge (earned from 20 boss hits) is the currency. Once you have a charge, deploying it costs nothing beyond losing that charge.

Can I use multiple special weapons simultaneously?

No. Only one special weapon can be active at a time. If you deploy Thunderstorm and then immediately try to deploy Torpedo, the second weapon activates only after the first's cooldown expires.

Does the Frost Cannon freeze affect my bullets too?

No. Frost Cannon freezes fish only — your bullets and those of other players continue to fire and land normally. The freeze affects fish movement and applies the 2× damage buff to all frozen fish.

Are special weapons available in all fish table games at Game Vault 999?

Special weapon availability varies by game. Ocean King 3 and Ocean King 4 have the full 6-weapon roster. Fire Kirin and Fire Kirin Plus have 4 special weapons (no Dragon Fire, no Atomic Bomb). Keno Vault does not have a special weapon system.

Does the 20-boss-hits requirement reset if I switch tables?

Yes. Boss hit counts are session and table specific. Switching tables resets your progress toward the next special weapon charge. Charges you have already earned are retained in your inventory and available at the new table.
