Fire Kirin Plus Special Weapons Guide

Fire Kirin Plus Special Weapons Guide

Fire Kirin Plus has four special weapons with unique mechanics. This guide covers Kirin Thunder, Frost Net, Dragon Bomb, and Laser Cannon — when to use...

Fire Kirin Plus is the sequel to the original Fire Kirin game, featuring an expanded boss roster, a redesigned reward system, and four distinct special weapons — compared to the original's two. Each weapon has a specific use case, and deploying them effectively against the right targets is the highest-impact skill adjustment a Fire Kirin Plus player can make.

Fire Kirin Plus Special Weapons Overview

WeaponEffectRangeCooldownBest Target
Kirin ThunderChain lightning — hits primary target and jumps to 3 adjacent fishMedium AoE (lightning chain)5 secDense schools, Kirin bosses
Frost NetFreezes all fish in a wide net area for 5 seconds; frozen fish take 1.5× damageWide area (60% screen)12 secAny boss — cooperative freeze
Dragon BombSingle massive explosion — 6× standard damage to primary target, 3× to nearby fishSmall AoE10 secHigh-HP boss fish (Phoenix King, Dragon Emperor)
Laser CannonSustained precision beam — 4× damage/sec for 3 seconds to a single targetSingle target, sustained8 secFast-moving bosses (Golden Phoenix, Storm Manta)

Kirin Thunder — Best for Schools and Kirin Bosses

Kirin Thunder fires a primary energy bolt at your targeted fish that then chains to up to 3 additional fish within close proximity — each chain target taking 50% of the primary hit's damage. This makes it uniquely powerful against dense fish schools where targets are naturally bunched, and against the Kirin boss line in Fire Kirin Plus where the Fire Kirin, Ice Kirin, and Thunder Kirin bosses typically spawn with a retinue of supporting fish.

Kirin Thunder is also the weapon of choice for the Thunder Kirin boss, which has a specific 2× vulnerability to lightning-type attacks (compared to 1× from standard bullets). A direct Kirin Thunder hit on Thunder Kirin deals effective 2× primary plus chain damage — the highest single-charge damage output against that specific target.

Frost Net — The Cooperative Boss Weapon

Frost Net deploys a wide area freeze effect covering approximately 60% of the screen for 5 seconds, with a 1.5× damage multiplier applied to all frozen fish during the duration. Unlike Ocean King's Frost Cannon (which freezes the entire screen), Frost Net targets a specific area you aim before deployment — meaning you can freeze a boss and its surrounding fish while non-frozen fish elsewhere remain active.

Frost Net's strongest application is a 2-player coordination: one player deploys Frost Net on the active boss, and the second player immediately deploys Dragon Bomb or Laser Cannon on the frozen target. The Frost Net 1.5× multiplier stacks with Dragon Bomb's 6× base damage to produce an effective 9× damage hit on the frozen boss.

In a 3-4 player Fire Kirin Plus session, Frost Net should be communicated (via the in-game emoji system) before deployment to give all table partners time to switch to Dragon Bomb or Laser Cannon. A coordinated Frost Net + Dragon Bomb burst from 3 players simultaneously can defeat a Phoenix King in under 8 seconds.

Dragon Bomb — Maximum Single-Target Burst

Dragon Bomb delivers 6× standard bullet damage to the primary target in a single instantaneous explosion, with 3× splash damage to adjacent fish within a small radius. It is the highest single-charge damage output weapon in Fire Kirin Plus for concentrated boss fights where you want to land the largest possible single hit.

Dragon Bomb is the correct choice for the Phoenix King and Dragon Emperor bosses — the two highest HP bosses in the game — because their HP pools are large enough that sustained damage from Laser Cannon over 3 seconds is less efficient than the instant 6× burst from Dragon Bomb. Dragon Bomb also provides split-second strike capability: if a boss has low HP but is moving rapidly, the instant explosion is more reliable than the 3-second sustained Laser Cannon lock.

Laser Cannon — Precision for Fast Bosses

Laser Cannon fires a 3-second precision beam at a single locked target dealing 4× standard damage per second (12× total over full duration). It is most effective against bosses with predictable, slow-to-moderate movement where the 3-second lock can be maintained. Against fast-moving bosses like Golden Phoenix (which spirals rapidly across the arena) and Storm Manta (which sweeps in zigzag patterns), Laser Cannon is significantly more reliable than trying to land multiple standard bullets.

At maximum denomination ($20/shot), a full Laser Cannon hit delivers the equivalent of $240 in standard bullet damage in 3 seconds — making it the most damage-dense sustained weapon in the game at high stakes.

Weapon Charge System in Fire Kirin Plus

Fire Kirin Plus uses a different charge system than Ocean King 3. Rather than a fixed 20-boss-hit charge, Fire Kirin Plus accumulates weapon energy based on total damage dealt (not just boss hits). Every $10 spent in bullets during active play generates 1 weapon energy point. Weapon charges require:

WeaponEnergy to ChargeApprox. Spend Required (at $1/bullet)
Kirin Thunder80 energy$80 in bullets
Frost Net150 energy$150 in bullets
Dragon Bomb200 energy$200 in bullets
Laser Cannon120 energy$120 in bullets
Can I use the same weapon charge twice in a row?

Yes. If you have 2 Dragon Bomb charges stored, you can deploy them back to back after each cooldown expires. Charges stack up to 3 per weapon type.

Does Frost Net affect my own bullets as well?

No. Frost Net freezes fish only. Your bullets and those of other players continue to fire and land normally during the freeze duration.

Which weapon is best for the Fire Kirin boss specifically?

The Fire Kirin boss (the signature boss of the game) is most vulnerable to Frost Net + Dragon Bomb combination. It has no specific elemental vulnerability, but its large hitbox makes Dragon Bomb's splash damage particularly efficient during the freeze window.

What happens to stored weapon charges if the session ends?

All stored weapon charges are lost when you close the game or the session ends. Charges do not persist between sessions. Use all stored charges before ending a session, especially before a known boss spawn window.

Is Laser Cannon available in the original Fire Kirin (non-Plus)?

No. The original Fire Kirin has two special weapons: Fire Storm (AoE) and Ice Blast (freeze + damage). Laser Cannon and Dragon Bomb are exclusive to Fire Kirin Plus. Kirin Thunder is a renamed and upgraded version of Fire Storm.
